The sheet you drew for the planning pack is enough. No model to build, no materials to assign, no lighting rig to place, and no render farm to wait on. An elevation, a perspective or a massing study goes in, and what comes back is the building photographed.

Sketch to render AI for architecture has one job that generic image tools do not: your drawing is a specification, so a moved window is a wrong answer rather than an interpretation. Annotations are read and obeyed. Name a cladding on the sheet and the cladding is what gets built, while the label itself never appears in the image.

A general image model will happily turn your drawing into a beautiful building. The question is whether it is your building. Ask for a render and you are asking for a picture; nothing in the request says the drawing is a survey, so a window can migrate, a storey can appear, and the result is judged on how good it looks rather than on whether it matches.

Here the instructions are already written and they are about your drawing: hold the geometry, leave no pencil line or paper grain in the result, read the annotations and do not build them. You pick a sketch type and add a sentence if you want something specific. There is no prompt to engineer, and no way to forget the rule that matters.

  • It runs in the browser. There is nothing to install, no plugin for your CAD or modelling package, and no render engine to configure. You upload the drawing, you get an image back, and the work happens on our side.

  • Your drawing is read as a specification rather than as inspiration. Every edge, opening, level and proportion is held where you drew it, and the things a drawing cannot carry are supplied around them: real materials, real light, weather, surroundings and the small imperfections that separate a built thing from a diagram. What comes back is a photograph of that building, not your drawing with colour added to it.

  • No, and they are not ignored either. Text on a drawing is treated as an instruction addressed to the renderer: dimension strings, leader labels, level markers, north points, scale bars and title blocks are read, obeyed and then left out of the image. We tested exactly this with a drawing carrying all of them. The materials the labels named came back built, and not one number, letter or leader line was painted into the result.

  • That is the thing it is told hardest not to do. No moved edges, no resized openings, no added storeys, no adjusted proportions, and nothing added that the drawing does not show. Where a drawing leaves something undrawn it is completed in the plainest way consistent with what is drawn, rather than invented into a feature you never asked for.

  • Put a drawing through it and check three things. Is the geometry still yours, edge for edge. Is there any pencil line, ink outline or paper grain left in the result, because a coloured-in sketch is a failure however pretty it looks. And if your drawing carried annotations, did they get built as objects in the scene. Those are the three we hold this one to.

  • Elevations, perspectives and massing studies, whether they show a building from outside or a space from inside. You tell it which by picking a sketch type, or leave it on Auto Detect and let it read the drawing. Hand drawings and CAD line work both go through; what matters is that the lines are legible, not that they are neat.

  • There is no style picker here, and that is deliberate rather than missing. A drawing has already chosen its design language: its lines are the choice. A style preset laid over them would compete with the geometry we just promised to keep. Where the drawing is silent, the plainest option consistent with it is used. If you want something specific, say it in the instruction box, which outranks every preset.

  • Up to four, alongside the drawing. A close crop of a material contributes that material, colour and texture; a finished building or room contributes its palette and mood. A reference can never change what is drawn: if it shows a feature your drawing does not have, that feature is left out.

  • JPG, PNG or WEBP, up to 12 MB. A photograph of a drawing on paper is fine, and so is an export from your drawing software. You upload once however many times you run it.
